From a series of beauty images shot in Naples, Florida. This was done at sunset with flash being the main source light. The warm light makes her legs look beautiful and is great for accentuating the skin tones. Flash used is the Metz 76 MZ 5 system, fully digital system.

Eyes Wide Open

This presentation of a body of my work from a talk I gave in Southern California under my title series Eyes Wide Open. 

The theme was based on the magic of photography: 

"...the photographer's magic - the ability to stir the soul with light and shape and colour. To create grand visual moments out of small and simple things, and to infuse big and complicated subjects with unpretentious elegance. 

Through the photographer's eyes a kiss becomes a romance, a stretch of fabric is a costume of endless possibilities, a face is the book that describes a lifetime. When you see great photography you hear music... or want to... because the light dances. It's playful and full of energy...

Jack. Jack was great! He just struck the right pose for several takes. I did not even have to give any direction...he's a natural at it. The focused stare is superb.

It takes an effort to create original images but take your time and try different approaches…and hey, here is an edit stage....so fire away and lock in as many images as you can...you can always edit out the ones that don’t work. Adding a flash gives your subjects suberb beautiful light!

This image: Metz on Camera, Light is calculated internally through your digital system and balanced for Hi-Lites and Shadow. The result is ContreJour...Hmm that lovely..backLight! Well, the balance needs to be subtle or otherwise you've got underexposed garbage files.
